Legal
Terms of use
Last updated October 14, 2026
These terms apply when you use the Peato app, the Peato web app, its backend service and this website (together, the “Service”), provided by Peato (“Peato”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. The Service
Features change, and the Service may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn.
2. Not scientific, agronomic or regulatory advice
Peato helps you record and look at information about land. Its alerts follow simple rules you control, and its trends and reports show data you or your devices supplied. They are not validated scientific results, and they are not advice for any management, legal, environmental-reporting or financial decision. You remain responsible for decisions about your land and for meeting any legal requirements that apply to it.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information, keep your password secret, and tell us if you think your account has been misused.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You must be at least 16 and able to enter a binding agreement, or be acting for an organisation that is.
4. Your content
Fields, notes, records and other content you put into Peato are yours. You give us the right to store, process and display them as needed to run the Service for you. We do not use your content to train models or share it with other customers. See the privacy notice for how personal data is handled.
5. Acceptable use
Do not break the law, attack or overload the Service, try to access other people's data, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, upload malware, or use it to harass anyone. We may suspend an account that does.
6. Our material
The Peato name, logo, software, design and the text and images on this website belong to us or our licensors. Landscape photos and device renders are used to illustrate the product. You may use the Service as described here, but you may not copy or resell it.
7. Third-party services
The Service uses third-party maps, hosting and other providers, whose own terms apply to their parts. Map imagery is attributed in the app.
8. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or loss of data, and our total liability for anything arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the previous 12 months (which, while the Service is free, is zero). Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
10. Ending
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end the Service or your access, with notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive will do so.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email and ask you to accept the new version. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept it.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. Courts in Estonia have jurisdiction, without taking away any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your own country.
